To Be By The Sea.

This year didn't really go as planned. Of all the exciting prospects for 2020 that I had lined up to shoot, Coronavirus shot down every single one, as it did to so many people this year. As the industry slowly leaped back into action after months of silence, and I started to see people getting busy again, I still had nothing. My anxiety and self doubt over my ability started to really cripple me, and my confidence plummeted. My creativity was at an all time low, as was my bank account, and with little prospect of anything at all on the horizon, I was convinced that perhaps it was time to throw in the towel.

As an escape from it all, Joy and I ventured down to Cornwall, and I took my camera with me. I was still struggling to find the motivation to shoot anything, but had hoped it might spark some creativity.

During that week, I received a call and was offered the chance to jump back into Standby Props for a Britbox TV Series for 3 Months. I was so relieved to have been offered something, after 6 long months of no income.

Throughout the trip, Joy continued to encourage me to use my camera, and get creative again, so for the last few days, I filmed some bits as we were hiking and exploring the Cornish coastline, and have finally got round to editing them together.

Sitting here now in Tier 4 London, this little snapshot offers me a reminder of happier warmer times, and to stick with it even when it feels like everything is against you.
